  • Once again I got lucky and missed the upgrade Xanga did this morning.  I must have good karma.  Of course when you only get a chance on average of once a week to open xanga, odds are it will be up and running.  Now let’s see if it eats this post.

Allie  and I had a good trip to ChicagoWe definitely got in plenty of walking.  We rode public transport as much as possible but there were times we walked 10 or 15 blocks because we were off the route lines.  Like when we left the Hancock tower and walked to lake shore drive and ended up going clear to the end of Navy Pier.  Pavement tires your legs out a heck of a lot quicker than you would think.  Sat. they had the first parade for St. Patrick’s day, I don’t know how they do it but the river is dyed the most beautiful shade of green and it stays that way for hours.  So that was cool to see in person. On St. Patrick’s day everyone is a little Irish, and everyone is in a good mood.  We saw some really good hats, costumes, clothes and a million people looking for a reason to party.  The magnificent mile was packed and it stayed that way all day.  Even the panhandlers were polite on Saturday so that was kind of cool, that they weren’t so pushy.  Maybe the thousands of extra people to hit up for money helped.

Of all the things we saw I got the biggest kick out of Daly Plaza.  The Blues Brothers is a time honored friend of mine and a movie I watch at least a couple time a year.  Standing where the Blues Mobile went thru the building was fun and made me feel like part of pop culture.  Allie must have taken a roll of film there, but since its not digital we have to get it developed. What’s really bad, we spent so much money there who knows when we’ll have the bucks to get 12 rolls of film developed.  YUP, twelve rolls of film, crazy huh?   Oh well, you can eat an elephant if you do it one bite at a time.

All for now, have a great day crazies!

  • i wish i could have been there for st. pat’s day.  that would have been an awesome sight.  did you get to see the blues mobile?  they’ve got it hanging around outside the house of blues (my friend lives in the apts right above, so i would see it all the time).

  • Hey, you. Have a great day yourself!

(note: I’m signed on right now as the old MyKi.)

  • hehe…I have been to vegas a few times and usually walk up and down the strip a lot, and can so relate to tired legs!  Sounds like a fun time in Chicago.

  • Sorry I haven’t been around for a while: I’ve been on hiatus, but it’s good to be back again.

Chicago is an awesome town: I’ve been there a few times myself. Glad you had so much fun there! I can just imagine what that St. Paddy’s Day party atmosphere must have been like. It’s marvellous that they went to such lengths to even colour the water! You’ll have to share some of those pictures with us!

Yay for the Blues Brothers! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  • I like the Blues Brothers too “I’m on a Mission from God.” I love that line. In Huntsville AL there is a business that has a car fixed up like GhostBusters. Just exactly like it. They may be actual GhostBusters, I don’t know, but I always think it is the coolest thing when I see it.

You asked on my site for the blow by blow on Survivor this week. My online friend calls me once a week, and she called me right before it came on and we talked the whole time…so I didn’t get to see it either. However, from my friends at work, we didn’t miss anything.

  • I like cemetary pics!  My camera is in the shop and I miss it dearly!

  • Twelve rolls of film!  This is why I’ve adopted a digital camera
