Month: December 2002

  • I can tell that everyones holiday season has arrived by the drop in posts.  I guess everyone is just as busy as we are.  Not a bad thing but it does make me wish I had more time or maybe more energy to do what I need done.

    UPDATE ON JADEN:

She was released from childrens hosp. They put a pic line in her arm and an R.N. will come by and administer antibiotics directly to her bloodstream.  Still trying to save that finger.  It’s looking like it will be possible.  Thank God for the talent and dedication of the doctors and nurses that saw us through this.

    Food, food and more food!!

We have, as a family, decided to forgo the traditional turkey and trimmings.  Everyone wants to go all out Italian.  I know it sounds strange, but it will be SSOOO good.  It was actually daughter Ems idea…we are going to do Manicotti, angel hair pasta, home made tortellini.  Plus a wonderful Italian salad with several different kind of breads.  I’m thinking of pulling out the cookbooks and finding some kind of killer Italian desserts to top the whole thing off.   Any suggestions from you Italian dessert lovers?

If I can I’ll add a little more later…for now I really need to get busy.  I think I need to tell about the wonderful difference of opinion a co-worker and I had.  See if you agree with him or me.  It may split down gender lines..we’ll see.

  • Went to see baby Jaden last night…what a sweetie.  Her face lit up and she grinned so huge when she saw me and bear.  She gave me big kisses and we talked.  You know she talked we pretended to understand every 13 month old word that came out of her mouth.  I made her parents leave for a break… I had baby doll to myself that way.(hubby lets me have her to myself)  It’s kind of akward getting her in and out of the crib, she has an I.V. in her foot so it’s wrapped up to her knee, and then her right arm is wrapped up to the elbow.  Her spirits are high, and she adored the teddy bear we brought her.  Of course it’s as big as she is and super soft.   We will know sometime tomorrow whether or not they are going to amputate, so I will let all of you know when I find out.  Thank you for the good wishes sent our way.

  • Still waiting to go to the hospital…so I’ll finish.

Bear had to take a nap since we only got about three hours sleep last night.  We went to town last night to  Rave Motion Pictures to see the premiere of Star Trek Nemesis. It was great!  It’s a brand new theatre in Little Rock with stadium seating and the biggest screen and best sound I’ve heard in a long time.   Next week when I pick up Em from school,  her Christmas break will  conveniently fall on the opening day of The Two Towers.  Guess where I’ll be?  It won’t be standing in line either.  They have online ticket purchase. How much easier does it get?

Now for some totally off the wall news.  Don’t tell, but I am applying for Survivor.     Just the application process has been fun.  Now all I have to do is make a three min. video.  Any suggestions.  Be creative, but realistic.     OOOOHHHH, I’m excited at the prospect of living on an island with 15 strangers and baring my soul on national T.V.  Course a million bucks wouldn’t hurt either!  LOL

  • So many things to blog about…so little ambition.

First off, my almost grand-daughter, Jaden Star, is in the hospitol.  As bizarre as this is, I swear it’s true.  Two weeks ago her other grandmas’ cat bit her on her right index finger.  They tried to get her in to see a doc but with all the sickness going around couldn’t get in, so they took her to a registered nurse they know.  Even though they treated it repeatedly and the outer wound healed it got infected in the bone.  She had surgery this morning, they tried to scrape the infection off the bone.  When they got her finger open they realized it was much worse than they thought.  The infection had eaten the bone hollow.  So the surgeon filled the empty bone with some kind of heavy duty medicine and now they are going to wait a few days to see if it will recover.  If not they will amputate.  She’s only 13 months old, so if she does lose her finger I know she will adapt.  Maybe she’ll be a lefty like me.  It still sucks big time though!!!!!!!

Well, my hunni bunni just walked in the door so we’re going to get ready to go see the baby at the hosp.  I’ll finish when we get home.

  • WIL WHEATON DOT NET …..RULES!!!!!

This guy, (address below) is a guy who sends spam to everyones e-mail.  He gave an obnoxious interview, so in retaliation people started signing him up for every catalog and junk mail list they could think of…now his front porch is filled with spam every day.  He should have remembered the golden rule, to late now…he’s already got everyone doing unto him!!  haha..justice prevails.
