  • I found this and thought it was quite appropriate.

Trials, temptations, disappointments-all these are helps instead of hindrances, if one use them rightly.  They not only test the fibre of a character, but strengthen it.  Every conquered temptation represents a new fund of moral energy.  Every trial endured and weathered in the right spirit makes a soul nobler and stronger than it was before.–James Buckham

  • Well you have her back, take good care of her.  love mom

  • YEAH!!!!!!!

The board of Trustees in their infinite wisdom decided after three long excrutiating hours that Emily and Tabby are remorseful and deserve a second chance.  They were given four things to be done before the end of the year. The fifth is for Emily alone. Sort of.

    they are:

    1. A formal letter of apology to Wal-Mart.

    2. Ten hours of Character lessons to be taught at a local elementary together.

    3. Five hours of in school community service to be chosen by Dean Kaminar.

    4. No checking out of school for any reason unless they are coming home.

    5. For both until the end of the school year and for Emily until she graduates no higher than the equivelant of a level two.  If either one of them break this last one they are automatically expelled.  NO APPEALS OF ANY KIND!!!

So many of the teachers went out on a limb and said that there would be no further discipline problems that it weighed heavily with the board.   We owe tremendous thanks to Sandy Rankin who gave up four hours of her day to speak.  Casey McNally who found out five minutes before the meeting and still stayed and spoke on Emily’s behalf.(and made the whole room laugh, thanks Casey)  Cory Boby who dropped everything and spoke at the D.R.C.  Dr. Baker who wrote a letter that should go down in history as one of the top five glowing character references of all time.  Mary Alice Chambers who even though she was a prosecution witness still said that she knew that Emily and Tabby are not bad kids and knew they were sorry.  She also exspressed deep regret over the whole situation. Jon Bunn thank you for coming and being prepared to speak, I know we didn’t call you, but you were prepared to and that means a lot.  It must also be noted that even though Dr. Measle and Dean Kaminar did exactly what they HAD to do they did it with reservation.  I want everyone single person who reads this to know that you are at A.S.M.S. with some of the most incredible Faculty you will ever have the opportunity to meet.  They ARE NOT your enemy.  I know many of you felt that expulsion was to much…Iagree, however they all are required to do their jobs. They did their job and yet still wanted both girls to stay, can you imagine what it must be like for those people on the D.R.C. the Dean and Dr. Measle to have to kick out kids they know and like.  I wouldn’t want that Task under any circumstances.

Now a word of caution when Emily and Tabby get back to school (Tues. after 4pm)don’t celebrate so much they get a level 2.  ha ha it was a joke guys.

Thank You All for being such a supportive and positive part of Emily’s life.  MOM

  • In case you haven’t heard the board of trustees meets with Emily and Tabby Friday at 1p.m.  Wish us luck we’re going to need it.  We continue to make plans and discuss options, but we are rapidly running out of time.  We will keep you posted, and of course if you can and will keep us in your thoughts and prayers on Fri. at one o’ clock.  mom

  • Hello!!!

  •      Thank You everyone for the support you showed Emily.  I can see why she considers you family.  Even though she did something stupid and wrong, you have rallied behind her and continue to love her.  That is what a family is supposed do.  Not necessarily approve of what someone does, but once it’s done try to pick up the pieces and go on.  Stand by each other through good and bad times.

I hope that even though things did not go well for Tabby or Emily at the DRC meeting that  it will improve the farther we take this.  If it doesn’t….well life WILL go on.  We have to try and understand that even though this wasn’t the “plan” for how their lives would go this IS how it’s going and we all have to deal with it in the best way we can.  I do know that the time for crying and “this can’t be happening” is over.  It is time to for us all to move on.  We will move on with the next step.  Hopefully some of you can help us with that, for those of you who can’t (for whatever reason) move on with your life. If you love Emily and Tabby they will always be with you in your heart.  Maybe they won’t be in school with you everyday and maybe you won’t see them ever again, but that doesn’t change the fact that you will always have a part of them with you.  Gone does not mean forgotten and you all know that, and moving on with your own life and succeeding is the best way to honor those that you love and those that love you.

Thank You Again, we will be in touch.  Emilys’ mom
