  • When I came home I was mostly zombie. I hadn’t slept much at all the
night before my flight and slept for only an hour or so on the flight
itself. We had a very bumpy ride.  Several times the capt. came on
telling the flight attendants to  “suspend service”  of
course one of those times was during dinner and the turbulence was so
bad I was sure I was going to get a lapful of food. (ick, the only
possible thing  worse than eating airline food, is wearing
it)  By the time we were pulling in to Burgbernheim I was bleary
eyed and wanted nothing more than to sleep for just a couple of
hours…jet lag be damned.  Then we went around the corner and I
saw the apartment building. I sure woke up in a hurry!  Of course
I knew they were going to paint, they told us they were going to, so it
was expected. We thought they would paint it the same color as the
guest house next door.  After all, it’s also owned by our landlord
and they connect by a mutual courtyard that the restaurant uses on warm
Summer evenings and special events. ie: wedding receptions, world cup parties etc.
Well as Gomer Pyle would say……………………”Surprise, surprise
surprise”.     or maybe Popeye, “Blow me down.”
To say we were under an erroneous impression as to the
    future color would be
putting it mildly.  The whole way down the street I kept saying,
“It’s pink, oh my God, it’s pink. They painted it pink.”  The sun
was brightly shining and it really did look a shade of pink. What shade
I couldn’t pin down. I have finally decided that maybe it’s not pink.
It’s more of a peachy, cantaloupe, salmony color. Depending on cloud
cover or sunshine. For proof of it NOT being pink I put on my decidedly
pink crocs and stuck my foot on the wall for comparison.  Now if
I can just find that cantaloupe colored blouse for future comparison
    I’ll be all set.

I think it’s growing on me, I think I may begin to like it quite a
bit.  And you know what? Giving direction to the house is going to
be a breeze.  Go down the main street until you get to the
brightest house on the block, we’re the apartment under the roof.

  • Sure looks pink to me.

  • Oh. I like it. I love pink , but yeah… I suppose it is a shock.
    Kind of a peachy pink

    It looks happy

  • I have red shoes just like that….LOL…I love it. And I like the pink.

  • It looks so much better! I really like it momma! I am so glad that you got home okay. I knew you did, cause I’m sure no news is good news right? :o p Love you!

  • Well, I don’t think the original builders of your building would feel too peachy keen about it … ha! peachy keen, get it? But, it is kinda pretty, and you’re right about giving directions being so easy.

  • now that’s a peachy happy color.
    cheers

  • i think you should put on all your clothes (that look like that color) and pose by the side of the building and have Bear or Mike or someone take a picture… then we can all see the contrast and decide what that color is… because to me it looks more like a penis-pink.

(see, I just wanted ya to smile, and I knew that would do the trick.)

and yeah, i know not all penises are pink or even that shade of pink, but surely there’s gotta be some that are that shade of pink… i’m talking flaccid here though, because otherwise it wouldn’t be pink at all… more like ragin’-red…

    alright , enough pee-pee talk!

  • Loving the color-it’s beautiful! ryc: I’ve been to a bullfight, but never to an animal fight.

  • I lived in a pink apartment building when I lived in San Diego…it was a lovely pastel pink…but still pink.

There are many homes that color in New Mexico…all adobe.  Makes for colorful scenery

ryc:  I was just hoping no one would know I live in a trailer!  I don’t have velvet paintings of Elvis, but I do have some of Indians that were given to me! hahaha!  I know all my credibility would have gone right out the window!  “Motel worker” is just fine.

    I love you…GFW

  • It looks pink to me!  hehe.
